More specifically, it aims to improve participants’ knowledge and reinforce the importance of effective project management for contractors carrying out work related to:
- The fundamental concepts related to the hydrological cycle, aquifers, hydraulic fracturing, static and dynamic water levels, and the various types of water intake structures (tubular wells, surface wells, filter points, and spring intakes).
- The legislative, regulatory, and normative framework, particularly a thorough understanding of the Groundwater Abstraction Regulations and the Environmental Quality Act.
- Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and site sketches to properly plan the location of a water intake structure.
- The proper execution of construction work related to horizontal drilling, geothermal energy, hydraulic elevator pistons, and hydraulic rock fracturing.
- Standards for sealing unused structures, bringing existing wells up to code, and strictly enforcing health and safety regulations on the job site (equipment management, power lines, dust).
