Mandatory continuing education RBQ
For contractors who obtained their general contractor, CMMTQ or CMEQ licence before April 1, 2026.
Who needs this continuing education
Since April 1, 2022, continuing education is mandatory for contractors holding one of the following licence sub-categories:
- General contractor : 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.2 and 1.3
- Specialized contractor : 15.1.1, 15.2.1, 15.3.1, 15.4.1 and 15.5.1
- Specialized contractor in electricity, plumbing and heating : 15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 15.4, 15.5 and 16
Depending on the number of sub-categories held, or on the number of licences held in several sub-categories covered by the Regulation, most contractors must complete 16 hours of training every 2 years.
Some specialized contractors must complete between 24 and 32 hours of continuing education depending on their sub-categories.
