RBQ licence courses
Preparatory courses for the RBQ licence, offered in class, by Zoom videoconference or online through pre-recorded video capsules.
The legislation
In Quebec, a construction contractor must hold a licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) to carry out any type of construction work, and yes, residential renovation is included.
The fines for breaking the rules have been raised considerably and remain the main deterrent. Getting your licence is in your interest: take our courses to obtain your RBQ licence.
The penalties
Anyone who breaches the provisions governing construction work, for example by working without a licence, is liable to a fine of $10,000 to $75,000 for an individual and $30,000 to $150,000 for a corporation.
Most provisions of the act have been in force since December 9, 2011. Gestion Solution Construction has been helping contractors obtain their Régie du bâtiment du Québec licence for years, so they can work fully within the law.
