2.3 - Groundwater pumping systems

Subcategory 2.3 (Groundwater pumping systems contractor) is a specialized contractor licence. It authorizes construction work that is not reserved exclusively for master pipe mechanics and electrical contractors, and that involves groundwater pumping systems as well as similar or related work.

To obtain this licence, the future guarantor must pass the common core exams (Administration, Job Site Safety Management, Project and Job Site Management) as well as the specific Execution of Construction Work (ETC) exam for subcategory 2.3.

This licence notably authorizes the installation of systems including the pipes, screens and pumps (external and submersible) that bring water inside a building. It also allows the assembly of the water supply pump inside and the electrical maintenance of the system, such as replacing relays or pressure switches. Note that drilling requires subcategory 2.1 and connection to the plumbing system falls under subcategory 15.5.

The RBQ execution of construction work exam, which lasts 3 hours, is divided into four main assessment themes:
