This course aims to prepare contractors to act as guarantor for subcategory 15.10, ensuring mastery of environmental standards, estimating and safe execution of refrigeration work.
15.10 - Refrigeration contractor
Subcategory 15.10, "Refrigeration contractor", authorizes construction work that is not reserved exclusively for master pipe mechanics and that relates to any refrigeration system, including those used for air conditioning, industrial processes and product preservation.
To act as guarantor for this subcategory, you must pass the specific RBQ 15.10 exam. It is a multiple-choice exam lasting 3 hours, with a required passing grade of 60 %.
This licence authorizes similar or related construction work. It also allows work on heating and air conditioning appliances of forced-air or hydronic systems, on the strict condition that the contractor also holds the appropriate subcategories (such as 15.1, 15.1.1, 15.7, 15.8, 15.4 or 15.4.1).
The exam assesses four main areas of competency: knowledge of the definitions and the different types of refrigeration systems, command of the legislative, normative and regulatory framework, the ability to read plans and specifications and to prepare estimates, and the application of standards during the management and execution of the work.
